By accessing or using RescueGuard ("the Service") at rescueguardhq.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

RescueGuard is operated by Southern Souls Animal League. These Terms apply to all users, including shelters, rescues, and any individuals accessing the platform.

2. Eligibility

RescueGuard is intended for use by verified animal shelters, rescue organizations, and animal welfare professionals. By creating an account, you represent that:

• You are at least 18 years of age.
• You are authorized to act on behalf of the shelter or rescue organization you register under.
• Your organization is engaged in legitimate animal welfare activities.
• You will not use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

3. Accounts & Access

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately at support@rescueguardhq.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

RescueGuard reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or are associated with fraudulent or harmful activity.

4. Permitted Use

You may use RescueGuard solely for the purpose of protecting animals by screening potential adopters against the Do Not Adopt registry. You agree not to:

• Share registry data with the general public or applicants being screened.
• Use registry information to harass, defame, or harm any individual.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy the database.
• Resell or redistribute access to the Service.
• Submit false, fabricated, or malicious records.

5. Record Submissions

Users with Standard or Pro plans may submit records to the registry. By submitting a record, you represent that:

• The information is accurate and based on verifiable incidents, charges, arrests, or convictions.
• You have a good-faith belief that the submission protects animal welfare.
• You understand that submitting false records may result in immediate account termination and potential legal liability.

RescueGuard reserves the right to review, edit, or remove any submitted record at our sole discretion.

6. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. RescueGuard does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any records in the database.

RescueGuard is a resource tool and does not constitute legal advice. Adoption decisions are solely the responsibility of the shelter or rescue organization.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RescueGuard and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to:

• Reliance on registry data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
• Adoption outcomes resulting from use or non-use of the Service.
• Unauthorized access to your account.

8. Termination

You may cancel your account at any time by contacting support@rescueguardhq.com. RescueGuard may terminate or suspend your access at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice.

Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately. Records you submitted may be retained at RescueGuard's discretion to protect the integrity of the registry.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
