Account Information: When you register, we collect your shelter or rescue name, email address, password (encrypted), and state.

Submitted Records: If you submit a Do Not Adopt record, we collect the information you provide including name, city, state, risk level, and reason for the flag.

Usage Data: We may collect basic usage information such as search queries, login timestamps, and page visits to improve the Service.

Payment Information: Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers. Stripe's privacy policy governs payment data.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

• Provide and operate the RescueGuard registry Service.
• Authenticate your account and manage your subscription.
• Respond to support requests.
• Send service-related emails (account confirmations, subscription receipts).
• Improve the platform and detect misuse.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share data with:

• Stripe — for payment processing.
• Airtable — as our database infrastructure for registry records.

5. Registry Records

Records submitted to the RescueGuard database are shelter-contributed and are not independently verified by RescueGuard. Submitted records may contain personally identifiable information about individuals flagged for animal cruelty or abuse.

RescueGuard is not a consumer reporting agency and the registry is not intended for use in employment, housing, credit, or any purpose governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical measures to protect your information, including encrypted passwords and HTTPS throughout the Service. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

If you believe your account has been compromised, contact support@rescueguardhq.com immediately.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information will be removed within 30 days. Registry records you submitted may be retained to preserve the integrity of the database.
